
Several young people are recovering from a one car crash in Venango County Monday night. The Franklin state police report the crash happened as a midsize car, driven by an unidentified 17 year old Franklin boy and carrying three other teens, was traveling north on Waterloo Road in French Creek Township. The 2008 Ford Fusion is reported to have been traveling at about 70 mph when the driver lost control going through a right curve in the roadway. Police say the car left the west side of the roadway and crashed into an embankment. The car then traveled about ten feet up the embankment and crashed this time into a Penelec utility pole , sheering off the pole causing low hanging wires. The car spun to the left nearly 180 degrees before rolling over and back down the embankment. Police say the car was on the west side berm of the roadway facing wet at final rest. The car sustained heavy disabling damage to its front. The driver escaped unhurt and was wearing a seatbelt. The three other passengers in the car who sustained moderate injuries and were transported to UPMC Northwest Regional Medical Center in Seneca and the Meadville Medical Center for further treatment of their injuries. Assisting at the scene were volunteers of the Utica Fire Department. The three passengers are listed as 18 year old Britney Shull of Franklin, an unidentified 16 year old boy from Utica and 19 year old Timothy Woffard of Franklin.
